Conservationists are getting increasingly inventive these days, and many are finding the simple ways still work the best.
In Belize, they are using donkeys to safeguard herds of cattle from jaguars. It seems the donkeys are hyper-aware of their surroundings, and notice the big cats long before the cows do, alterting the herd to the danger. [...]

According to a new count released this week, mountain gorillas living in the war-torn Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) have increased in number despite the bloody conflict.

No we’re not making this up. Nature provides ample evidence of stranger-than-fiction creatures, and Africa’s hairy frog Trichobatrachus robustus certainly fits the category.

There’s a place in the world where children can swim among polar bears.
